This position will report to The General Counsel of Japan.

Responsibilities:

- Provide sound legal support for all revenue-generating activities in Japan
- Provide strong business partnering
- Assist the organization to achieve its objectives in a legal and ethical manner consistent with company business conduct, policies, US and Japan laws.
- The role supports all parts of the business in Japan- systems, storage, software, and service sales, delivery of support/professional/education services plus all the functions.

Key Duties:

- Trusted legal, governance and business counsel to the business in a highly competitive market and complex operating environment.
- Facilitates implementation of Corporate policies and standard agreement forms in Japan.
- Provides training on a range of topics and helps the business to understand fundamental legal and business governance principles/applications in daily business.

スキル・資格

Requirements:

- At least 5 years in-house legal experience, including complex contract negotiations.
- Good command of verbal and written English.
- Must be an effective business partner with passion and integrity.
- Legal skills must be broad based and include,in addition to transactions, corporate structuring, product liabilities, anti-monopoly, intellectual property.
- Ability to address challenging and complex issues with pro-business, fiduciary and practical solutions, especially in the context of Japan complex business model.
- Familiarity with US regulatory environment including revenue recognition, FCPA and SOX will be desirable.
- Good word processing and other computer skills.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Japanese laws.

Competencies / Attributes:

- Must have a 'can do' attitude and high scalability.
- Able to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
- Credible track record and law degree from Japanese or US universities preferred.
- Able to build up good and prompt rapport with relevant parties especially team-mates within and outside Japan.
- Able to spot issues and provide sound advice (both legal and fiduciary) so that the business objectives are achieved under reasonable levels of risk without breach of fiduciary duties.
