A major American biotechnology company requires a Business Planning and Analysis Controller. This position reports to the Finance Director and IT, and will be considered as the successor to the Finance Director.

Position: Business Planning & Analysis GPB Controller
Salary: Flexible depending on prior experience and salary
Report line: Director Finance & IT

This is a top tier biotechnology company with one of the strongest pipelines in the industry. With the recent acquisitions of several strong competitors, they have now expanded their portfolio and are considered one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in the world.

Upper level employees are often given the opportunity to work in overseas offices in America or Europe for several years.

Business Planning & Analysis Controller

This position reports to Finance Director. He/She is responsible for financial planning and analysis of GPB including Forecast/Budget, monthly analysis, Strategic Plan, R&O, MME.

- Completion of AS / PS, Strategic Plan

- Monthly variance analysis and reporting

- Completion of R&O reporting

- Leadership review meetings

- Analysis requested by H.Q, local management team, and marketing group

- Creation of presentation materials of Strategic Plan / Budget

- Preparation of commentary for GM, President

スキル・資格

This is a very international environment and therefore there is lots of communication with the headquarters and also overseas offices. The office both in Tokyo and Osaka are very internationalized with many nationalities making it a truly dynamic environment.

Background Requirements

- Proven team leader
- Strong knowledge on general accounting / managerial accounting
- Proficient on pc, especially Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Good communication / negotiation skill with all level of employees
- Bilingual Japanese - English
- Good understanding on Pharmaceutical Industry and practice
- Good understanding on the management style of US based company
- Business degree, CPA, MBA
- Must be a strong leader and have the desire to want to develop and mentor team members

- This position must be hungry for success and want to step up into a Directors role in the future

- This position will be required to attend very senior meetings and also interact with many different departments. The candidate must be able to converse and be able to give clear and concise information to overseas offices via teleconferences and also face to face including in boardroom settings.
