
Primary responsibilities
- Work with the Director of Legal & Compliance and the affiliate Compliance Committee to establish an annual audit plan, and supplement the audit plan as necessary.
- Conduct audits on a continuous basis according to the audit plan.
- Identify and assess risks, measure policy compliance, influence action plans, partner with affiliate management and process owners to implement and improve processes; share best practices and key learning across the organization.
- Coordinate corporate audits of the affiliate and responses to corporate audit findings.
- The scope of areas that the ACA may audit includes Financial Controls, Privacy, Information Technology, and all aspects of promotional practices and ethical interactions with healthcare providers.
Secondary responsibilities
- Coordinate fact-finding investigations of alleged violations on behalf of the Ethics Committee.
- Provide input on training to affiliate training and compliance functions.
- Experience in compliance or auditing role, either at a company or an accounting/consulting firm
- Auditing experience (preferably with one of the top 3 accounting firms) and/or risk & compliance management experience.
- Passion for the importance of controls and risk management to maintain sustainable growth
- Ability and willingness to work both independently and within a team environment
- Language ability: conversational English; native Japanese
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
- Confidence and maturity to interact with and influence senior management
- Ability and desire to collaborate with global counterparts
- Ability to interact with all levels of management
Desirable Skills / license
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)—US or Japan
- Proven change management and influencing skills across a whole organisation
